Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 15, 2026 · Last Updated: January 22, 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how plztell.me ("we," "us," "our," or the "Service") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our terminal-based AI assistant service accessible via HTTP requests through tools such as curl, wget, or PowerShell.
By using plztell.me, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, you should discontinue use of the Service immediately.
We are committed to protecting your privacy while providing a useful service. This policy explains our practices in plain language while ensuring full legal compliance with applicable data protection regulations, including the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other applicable privacy laws.
Data Controller
For the purposes of applicable data protection laws, plztell.me is the data controller responsible for your personal data processed through this Service.
For any privacy-related inquiries, data subject requests, or concerns, you may contact us at:
Email: hello@plztell.me
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
When you use plztell.me, you transmit data to our Service, which may include:
- Query Content: The questions, prompts, or requests you submit to the Service via URL parameters or request body.
- Piped Content: Any data you voluntarily pipe to the Service, such as log files, configuration files, error messages, or other text content you choose to send for analysis.
Automatically Collected Information
Our infrastructure may automatically collect limited technical information necessary to process your request:
- IP Address: Your IP address is transmitted as part of the HTTP request and is processed for security and abuse prevention purposes, including enforcing rate limits. We may also record IP addresses in limited operational logs (for example, when rate limits are exceeded).
- User-Agent String: Information about the client software making the request (e.g., curl version). We may process and, in some cases, log this information for troubleshooting, security, and service reliability.
- Request Metadata: Basic HTTP request information (such as timestamps, endpoint/URL path, and response status codes) necessary to process and respond to your request. Because queries may be included in the URL path, request metadata may include portions of your query.
- Operational Logs (Limited): To operate and secure the Service, we may create limited logs that can include a truncated portion of your query text (for example, the first ~50 characters), along with technical metadata (such as IP address, timestamps, and error/rate-limit events). We do not intentionally log the full content you pipe in the request body, but you should assume anything sent to the Service could appear in logs in limited circumstances (for example, if an upstream proxy or hosting platform logs request details).
Important: We do not maintain databases of conversation histories. If you create an account (for Pro tier features), account management is handled by our third-party authentication provider, Kinde—see below for details. We process your query and any piped content primarily in memory to generate a response, but we may retain limited operational logs and rate-limiting data as described in this policy.
How We Use Your Information
We process your information solely for the following purposes:
- Service Provision: To process your queries and generate AI-powered responses using our third-party AI provider.
- Service Operation: To maintain, monitor, and improve the technical operation of our Service.
- Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable legal obligations, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, or protect our legal rights.
Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Contractual Necessity (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR): Processing is necessary to provide the Service you have requested.
- Legitimate Interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): Processing is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, provided such interests are not overridden by your fundamental rights and freedoms.
- Legal Obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR): Processing may be necessary to comply with legal obligations to which we are subject.
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR): For certain processing activities, such as analytics cookies on our website, we rely on your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time by adjusting your cookie preferences or using the opt-out methods described in this policy.
Third-Party AI Services
Critical Disclosure: plztell.me uses Google's Gemini AI models to process your queries and generate responses. When you submit a query to our Service, your query content and any piped data are transmitted to Google's servers for processing.
Google Gemini AI (Vertex AI)

- Under Google's Vertex AI terms, your data is not used by Google to train or improve their AI models.
- Data transmitted to Google may be processed in the United States or other countries where Google operates data centers.
We strongly encourage you to review Google's privacy documentation:

For more information about Firebase's data practices, please review:
Kinde Authentication (Pro Tier)
If you choose to create an account for Pro tier features, authentication is handled by Kinde, a third-party identity provider. By creating an account, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Kinde collects and stores your account information, including your email address, name, and profile picture (if provided).
- Authentication tokens are stored locally in your browser; we do not store your credentials on our servers.
- Kinde may process your data in accordance with their own privacy policy and terms of service.
- You can manage your account and data directly through Kinde's user management interface.

- Google's use of analytics data is governed by Google's privacy policies.

Data Retention
We aim to minimize data retention. The Service operates primarily on a stateless, transient processing model for generating responses, but some limited data may be retained for operational and security purposes:
- No conversation database: We do not maintain a database of conversation histories. User accounts for Pro tier are managed by Kinde, not by plztell.me directly.
- User content: We do not intentionally store your full queries or piped content in a database after the response is delivered. However, limited portions of queries may be retained in operational logs as described above.
- Rate limiting: We process IP addresses to enforce rate limits and may retain rate-limit related data (for example, counters keyed by IP address) for as long as necessary to enforce those limits.
- Operational logs: We may retain limited operational logs for service reliability, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. Retention periods depend on our log rotation and hosting configuration, but are intended to be limited.
Google Gemini AI (Vertex AI): Data transmitted to Google via Vertex AI is processed under Google's enterprise terms. Under these terms, your data is not used for model training. Google may retain data for a limited period as required for service operation. Please refer to Google's Vertex AI documentation for information regarding their data retention periods.
Firebase: Firebase may retain certain technical logs and metadata as part of its infrastructure operations. Firebase data retention is governed by Google's Firebase terms and policies.
Google Analytics: We have configured Google Analytics to retain user-level and event-level data for 14 months. After this period, data is automatically deleted. Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained indefinitely. Google Analytics cookies on your device expire as described in the Cookies section above.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the data processed through our Service:
- Encryption in Transit: All communications with plztell.me are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS protocols.
- Limited Data at Rest: We do not maintain a database of user content, but limited operational logs and rate-limiting data may be stored for a limited time as described in this policy.
- Minimal Data Collection: We adhere to data minimization principles, collecting only data strictly necessary to provide the Service.
- Secure Infrastructure: Our Service operates on secure cloud infrastructure with appropriate security controls.
Despite these measures, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
User Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the content you submit to the Service. Do not submit sensitive personal information, credentials, secrets, API keys, passwords, financial information, protected health information, or any confidential data through plztell.me. Any such submission is at your own risk.

Automated Decision-Making
plztell.me does not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects or similarly significantly affects you. The AI-generated responses provided by the Service are informational outputs and are not used to make automated decisions about you.
Rate limiting based on IP address is an automated technical measure used solely for service protection and does not constitute profiling under GDPR.

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting that sends a signal to websites you visit indicating that you do not want to be tracked. There is currently no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals.
